F*ck Right Off! Ye Don't, do ye? I mean, ye Can't, surely to god???

Before I ever came here, I was told that the Dogs kept in the rural areas were always muzzled, to stop them picking up any 'Baits'. I was further told that said Baits would as likely include Strychnine, for foxes!

Only clue I've yet found to the truth of any of this is that I once read somewhere that it's illegal to set a poison within ten feet of a dwelling? Bit arse about face, when ye consider they sell all the usual Rat Baits (Poisons) in the high street. How am I supposed to tackle rats in someones roof space, if I'm not supposed to place poison within ten feet of the place?! (Actually, it may have been ten yards. Same differance)

But back to this Strychnine; I see we're allowed to use Alpha Chlorolose on crows and pigeons (Does a little jig of delight! Haven't we got it made here, eh?! LOL!) But are we seriously allowed to poison foxes ~ and presumably anything else that gets in our way?!

This is all just rhetorical, for me. No Way would I use Strychnine on Anything! Vile bloody stuff! And how one's meant to target legal / pest speceise foxes and yet miss the protected badgers? Beats me!

So; Is it still legal? Or have I been fed something based on thirty years ago? Or what?

on a seperate note i was under the impression that parquat was also banned but was using a weedkiller last week that had it as an active ingredient??

Cheers for that mate! And actually, no; You're the first responce I've had and no one else has ever told me any differant. Thank f*ck it's been banned then. Not that my neighbours would dream of using it. Nor that my Dogs ever get to where ever anyone might have. It was just mortifying to think it might yet be accessable to anyone.

Paraquatte? I'm almost certain I read that too was banned now. Governments own PCS site is the place to look. I've been there. I'm sure I noticed, in passing, that Para' was banned. Not a product that I have a lot of use for myself. But so frighteningly lethal that its mention does tend to catch my eye.
