bitter coldHeaded out this mornign with borntohunt and another fella to a farm quite some distance away from home. after an hour and a half of driving we finally arrived there. it was quite breezey, and very cold and crisp. the first set we done, resulted in a 2 foot dig. broke through to both the ferret and rabbit and headed on. next set was empty. and the next one after that. then we got to a set, that we seen a rabbit go into when we arrived an hour ago. quite a large set. both ferrets in, after about 5 mins a rabbit came out and sat at the hole, just holding rolf i waited with excitement, awaiting the bolt. then it did, it ran up the ditch, rolf chased and crashed in on it, but missed, it then decided to cross from its own ditch, into the far ditch. rolf couldnt get back on terms with it in the wind, but made a good effort. this is were my mate took the pic below. then crossed a small stream and tried this very large field hoping to beat one out of the whins, but the cold must been keepign them down, and the sets were all too thick to do. next field we yet again done another few empty sets, then crossed over and done the far side on our way back up. the first set produced a rabbit, with rolf crashing in on it, as it got down another hole of another set. then another empty set. then the next set resulted in a very bad layup, which took us about an hour to dig, it thick whins too. after that we were tired and made our way back to car, deciding to do a few small sets on the way, these produced two flights, one he hit in the open, but didnt hold. another it just went back down into the set, so i quickly lifted the ferret. so a blank day, and very disapointed at the amount if rabbits we seen. heres a few pics my mate took of the day
