Bringing a pup from the U.K into the republic of Ireland

Hi all
I am going to be buying a pup in the uk in the near future and was wondering if any of ye boys on here have done this in the past as i want to know what i need to have in order with the pup in the lines of papers etc before i can do this?
Any help or info would be very appreciated
Thanks

John

If ye going over to get it, John; Just bring it back with ye. Simple as that, basicly.

I brought my four with me, in the back of the van. No papers required. No questions asked.

Just be aware that, when ye board the ferry, you must leave ye vehicle where it's strapped and go up to the passenger deck. Ye Dog must be left in that vehicle. In a word; Put it in a decent transit crate.

Beyond that? Probably more complicated fetching in a crate of booze!

I am hoping to get an 8 week old pup and am just worried that there would be a problem cause she wont be fully innoculated and stuff when i try to bring her over.

I've taken dogs from the U.K. to the Republic every sunday to hunt for about 30 years and never had a problem. Also from both North and South to Scotland, England and Wales and no trouble. I think it's only from outside the British Isles that you need the pet passport thingy.

Several people had advised me to due that staffman but it kind of worried me about putting a 8 week old pup that was not fully innoculated onto one of them in case she picked up something from previous occupants.
So we decide to do the drive as it also gave me and the pup time to get to know each other
Been over again since and have added another pup to the family
