Can't hunt! Won't hunt!

Hi there,
New poacher in the woods In need of some terrier pups from good stock........... fingers crossed.
We, me & 2 friends, have couple lurchers, pit/grey bitch n her dog pup of 6 months. Good bitch n pup looks like he'll make nice dog.
The problems with the 2 young terriers. We got jack x and border/lakeland. One will go to ground but thats about it and the other will fight with anything but wont go to ground. Good ones are hard found eh!

Cheers, bed time

I share ye pain, mate. Oh how I share ye pain! LMAO!

Got a JR bitch here. Must have some spaniel back in there somewhere because she spends her life rushing about, quartering the fields and putting up birds.

She's gone 'to ground' at least the one time that I know of. Went into a drain hot on the scent of what I imagine was a mink. Only something happened in there and she screamed and never did engage.

Much more recently, I believe she ran into another mink or something. This time in a concrete pipe so big I could've crawled in there myself. Same result. She screamed and then I found her standing off, looking into that pipe in shock.

Now, when ever I suspect she's on the scent of other than a damn snipe, I call out and warn her: " Look out, Small Dog. It might Bite ye ". Useless f*ckin thing.

Oh well; She barks like hell at anything moving outside after dark and doesn't eat much ..... Truth to tell, I was offered a Good pup by a friend just the other day. Turned it down because I don't want That good a terrier round here. It'd self enter and I'd have to dig it out. And I'm too damn old and worn out to be digging up Dogs every tip 'n turn.

Wish mine was a bit more in the middle. But there we go. Pays our money and has to feed the result.

Hello ditch

I picked up a tidy small jack today, 18months or so. Dug him a red lad with a friends dog n he loved it. I think he'll make a nice little sounder. All the same he stood his ground with the closterphobic jack x who is twice his size, seperate boxes in the jeep from now on

Bloody handy, getting a Dog of that age and dinding it's worth a light, mate!

'Mind you, it's ironic; I often wonder how many " useless " Dogs would make fine pets and how many pets, given the chance, may show great potential?

Like my little pest here. 100% good as gold around 'stock. Simply likes dashing about in fields! Won't go in one with cattle in it though and worships my bloody donkey. Basicly then, no trouble at all. Quite useless to me though. I'm a Rat Catcher and my Big Dog has a better nose for rats than she has.

Chances are though, there's some bored out of it's skull little Dog out there somewhere, sat around in doors all day, waiting for a quick walk down to the corner and back. And who'd give anything to be allowed to get into a cow bier and dig out some rats and murder them, regardless of what they tried to do in return.

Ih well, you've found one that likes rucking with Charlie? There's hope for me yet!
