In relation to the recent proposal by Dublin council to ban certain dog breeds from its properties, Fingal council have now proposed a ban on circus acts and the like where animals perform.
Now, I'll be straight with you, I have no interest in circus animals, I don't like seeing caged animals and hence I don't go to zoo's. But that is my personal opinion and I wouldn't force it on anyone. Each to their own within good sense and reason.
Why I bring this to the attention of whomever may be interested is that, to me at least, it is an indication of a combined effort to PETA-ise our local government.
When you vote, study who you vote for carefully. Just because a candidate is a member of the party for whom you've always voted, doesn't mean that he or she agrees with that partys traditional policy towards hunting or animals.
Local elections are just as important as general elections, this issue and the dog ban are proof of that. look to your sports and your animals, set your priorities and vote accordingly.
