Diggist, ye dark horse! Ye kept that one quiet, about the guns, mate!

What ye looking at there then? Shotguns or rifles?

Anyway, nice to see ye here, mate. What ever kept ye?
Sean

welcome to the forum

Hi Sean, thanks for the welcome

Ditch i`m going to try my hand at a few shotguns to start off with, plenty of time to get into riffles later on.
Shot at a few targets up to now   and managed to hit them, the crows are safe for now but its only a matter of time before i master these noisy bloody  things.

Yeah. Noisy's the right bloody word alright 'n all, mate. Can't reccommend ear protection too highly. Bang like a 12 bore going off that close to ye ear? Won't ever do ye good.

Don't ye think the burned cordite smells lovely though? Nicest bit about shotguns: Opening the breech after ye fired one and getting that lovely whiff!

We were only out for an hour or so the last time and my lugs were still ringing some hours later, don`t like the thought of those big muff style protectors, so i had a word with a mate that works in a factory, he is going to get me some kind of foam ones, apparently you just squeeze them tight, stick them in your brain canal, and they expand in your lug, i can see them coming in handy for sitting with the missus on a night.
I know what you mean about the smell too, reminds me of fireworks or sparklers, anyway i`v made plans for sunday coming to go and try to get some crows, just hope i don`t blank, i imagine moving targets are a touch harder to hit than a static board with a cross painted on
