I do believe I Like what I'm seeing there, Burnzy4.
Is it me, or are they young and newly acquired ferrets? They look young - so much so that I want to reach into the pictures, pick them up, bury my nose in their fur and take an almighty great sniff of their hairy little body's! I just Love the warm smell of fresh, clean ferret!
Full votes on the mesh ye using there too. What is that? 18 Gauge? No muck 'n rubbish anyway. That'll last ye. Sure as hell won't rot away in a year or two, like the flimsy Twilweld people use on aviaries.
Shredded paper? I tend to check my chin over that. Gets everywhere and gets stuck with everything.
I've used / heard people complain against Hay, Straw and Wood Shavings. Personally, I found a hunk of hay, provided on top of a bed of wood shavings, gives them a self malleable 'roof' to make, over an insulating, self draining 'bed'.
Tends to stay where it should be and it easy as shit to lift / scoop out and add to the fire. I'd remove the hay about once every week or two. Although it may not seem to need it, it Does have a tendency to 'sweat'. Thus it can look a lot better than it really might be.
But, hell; How much is a square bale of hay? I'd swap a bale for a rabbit to just be seen on my ground.

Nice looking ferrets there, looking forward to the season I'll bet!
