heading out today with MJE of the forum. it was to be both birds first days hunting. malcoms bird, cal weighed in at 1lb 5.75oz while mine, rolf weighed in at 1lb 7.2oz. we took cal out first. walked a little field that had a lot of cover, but put nothing up. then headed over to another well grazed field, found a nice set and put ferret down. after a minute or two cal was off the fist, but nothing, then he landed on a bush nearby, again the rabbit bolted, this time he got it. malcom gave him a fed on the rabbit and then we headed back to the car for rolf. once we were back in the fields i let rolf do a little following on, but he was staying put in the trees, and a struggle to get him back, so decided not to waste my take and just head home, be cutting another ounce at least of him before i head out again, was so unresponsive.

looks like we have winner hard luck sean ....got fred to feed off the fist tonight at 1/8 on washed beef i was surprised he took it hes 3 ozs over fly weight ..took a while but well worth it hes my 1st bird what a feeling

good stuff mate, rolf weighed in at about 6 ounces overweight! and boy its hard to get the weight off him, hes been getting baout 2 legs and 2 wings of chick a day, and hardly loosing a thing. a vold night is predicted, so might be out hunting for wedensday. and yes, mal won the wager , bird done real well. will have to make new wager for first pheasent now, or first rabbit on lamp

what way are you dropping his weight i got him to drop over 3ozs in a week by feeding 1 day not feeding for 2 done it twice . been a busy weekend started the duck season sun morn 2 nice mallard hanging in the garage

first few ounces came off no problem, once i got to 1lb 8, he really didnt wanna let it go. one day i feed him 2/3 of an ounce of washed beef, he put on half an ounce, it didnt make sense lol.
