out yesterday

Headed out today to a spot ive only hunted once this season

First field we done had some whin bushes that sometimes holds a rabbit

Only managed to flush the one, which didn’t go far till it got into a very large whin bush, rolf chased the rabbit on through it on foot, and came out like a little terrier

Walked down the field and rolf started to bob the head, so I slipped him, down to a buch of thrushes. Was low, then he went high in the air again, and then turned to do a brilliant stoop on a rabbit. First in the bag and a good flight to start the day.

Next we done some brilliant open ground sets on a bank which usually is heavin with rabbits, but not one at home at all

Sean

Next up was another empty set,

Rabbits usually don’t well out of it too, so I had to make up for my lack of real tree

Next set we done, we had our first bolt of the day, a great flight, with rolf catching it by the backside and being dragged abit, before it kicked him up near another set.

Seen another from that set, but went up and down again, ferret showed, so I quickly lifted her and went on.

Went on to try a few more small bits of cover, but didn’t manage any flights.

Sean

Then tried a lovely little set on a hill in the next field

Resulted in another good flight, but this time rolf had a secure head hold on it.

Ferret lifted

Called it a day on 2 rabbits, very poor days hunting, considering we only had 4 flights in about 2 hours hunting

Will do another write up of todays hunt later, or maybe tomorrow
