JDF

this is my lad a few months back.
irish terrier/grey x saluki/grey.

he's 11months old now
DitchShitter

Blimey, JDF, That's interesting!

Not having a clue what an Irish Terrier's all about ~ and having a woefully slow connection! ~ I read the 'pedigree' of ye Dog before I saw the shot. And, frankly, I thought; " Well, this'll just look like any other smooth Lurker, won't it? Trace of fluff, maybe? "

Then I glanced up to saw the head and muzzle on that thing! Then the coat?! Like; WTF?!

If ye'd shown just the shot and asked us to guess what was in that Dog, I doubt I even would have tried! What a unique looking creature that is.

The longer hair on the flanks there; That soft or harsh? Only it reminds me of a bitch I fell in love with. One of 'Trevor' s. I'm damn sure she was Irish Terrier blooded too. Same colour. But her coat was short and looked like I don't know what! Lost the shot I had of her with my last pc. Haven't heard from Trev' this past year

I really must find time to check out this " Irish Terrier ". All I see round here are loo roll bodied, cotton reel legged " Jack Russels " (Except for my own leggy little cracker, that is! )
JDF

irish terrier

the pups dam is saluki/grey and the sire is irish terrier/grey i know both dogs so the breeding is right, not really sure why anyone uses irish terriers in lurcher breeding but they do seem to provide the dogs with something and they produce a lighter type than the wheaton cross.

that coat has been stripped Ditch it's a lot thicker than that before the summer,it's a nice double coat not to harsh or soft,he's obviously thrown strongly to the terrier side of the cross even though theoreticly it's only 1/4,that'll be the lurcher to lurcher mating i suppose.

you can see the irish influence better in that shot,i'll tell you what though ditch this fella hasn't been started yet but everything else about him is right on the money, realy looking forward to this season.
DitchShitter

This is looking like a discussion worth persuing, JDF. Only I've been working pretty much for fourteen hours now and I'm shitted.

I'll try to get in touch with Trevor and get a copy of his bitch. I'd near as damnit swear she had Irish in her. Maybe, if I can catch him, he can explain better the reasoning.

Right now though, terms applied to coats alone are doing my head in. As is trying to stab the right keys on this board!

Stay in touch with this one, mate. I'll be back!
