Patiance, Grasshopper. The forum is young ~ as it would seem you are. We don't have legions marching through here every hour of the day. Give the members time to find ye questions.
That said; Here, as anywhere, the sort of Dog used would depend on the quarry expected and favoured. Bigger Dogs for bigger stuff. Smaller Dogs for smaller stuff. Medium sized Dogs can generally handle all the usual stuff.
Amongst that line up, I'm sure, ye'll find most of the Dogs used here, as elsewhere, for a spot of Lamping.

1st time out 17 runs id say you over cooked it a small bit,11 months is still only a pup,as for crosses ive a 11 months old sal/whip/hound and his best is 8 out of 9 runs i was very impresed, my 2 bros have 1st cross deerhound/greyhounds aslo 11 months, but to be honest theres abit of everthing about down here collie and bull xes r very popular round here 2,will give them a full season on bunnies and move them on to the bigger stuff

these runs were only short due to the stubble on the feilds being long
the pup did the same 2 nights later with no ill effects
my old dog had 45 runs the same night with 36 catches
if your dogs are fit enough they should be able to run this many times
anyway the rabbits are easy round here at this time of year

i have no doubts that a whippet/greyhound will run that on its first night out... mine would have ran long past the point where i was fed up lol...
