just joined today, i know a few names from other forums. just the two dogs at the minute, that good working class compo.... a bull and a whippet. the whippet is due in 3 weeks, sire being a mike brown bred dog.
still have one bull terrier , theres a pic of him on the other site but i'm finding the whippets a real pleasure to be around and a lot less hassle in the bargain.its nice to be able to let a dog of the lead without having eyes in the back of your head.
Yep. With ye there, mate. My last one died last september. Peacefully and naturally of plain old age. He was the last. Granted, I do now have the 'mad' Rottie. She simply can't be allowed to get near Any of my Dogs, or much else for that matter. But she's a complete peanut head with me. Just had her out for a scratch about and a good combing an hour ago.
But the other three mixed mutts? Complete peace. They can all be left together, unsupervised, and I know there'll never be a problem with them.
Just this minute been looking at an APBT in need of fostering / adopting, in USA. Said to be quiet as a mouse and gentle as a lamb. Fine. I hope someone without any other 'Bulls gives him a loving home. Well; Someone just plain without any other Dogs.
I always found that, in a one on one situation, Bullys are happier bonding to their one man and depending on him. So it's either keep one or keep as many as ye like, equelly left on chains or in kennels. Not the way I chose to keep my own Dogs. And I too am happy with a few, socially intergrated and free Dogs around me.
That one ye still have must look funny amongst those whippers, eh? Like putting me on a stage full of Body Builders, only the opposite effect!
he's great around the whippets and will endure all sorts of punishment from them but livestock or any strange dogs is a different kettle of fish, but as you say a great nature with people and he's as affectionate as a whippet, both just wanna lie up beside you.
