Good god! Have I heard some f*cking crazy suggestions here! Broken glass. Greasy tin foil?! As a professional 'Rat Catcher' I thought I'd heard most home grown ideas, but some of what I hear here takes the biscuit!

Anyone got any more 'Irish Farmers' methods of rat control for me, please?

Eoghain; Thanks for the in put, mate. Sorry if I've been a while back here ~ Guest and busy as ever

Now; Electricuting rodents, by what ever exact set up and so forth, has been recorded for going on since the 'invention' of Electricity. One of the first 'Selling Points" professed by one of the 'Inventors' was, in fact, that it might be used as a " Humane " method of despatch for animals! Straight up! The c****s went on to demonstrate this by electrocuting a f*cking elephant! Live on camera! How things have changed

But, yeppers. I've seen old '1920's' style adverts for some little tube ye plugged into ye light socket ..... etc. Still have " Rat Zappers " in use and on sale today.

" Temo Tack " ? Rat Tack, mate. These days sold ready coated onto slabs of cardboard. Same effect; Rodent walks onto it and becomes stuck. Then proceeds to roll about till it can't roll anywhere. Then it'll settle down to gnawing its way through any part of its own body within reach of its own teeth.

I've had more than my share of rucks with so called " Professionals " who will Still jump the wall at the first and resort to those disgusting things.

Yeppers. I Really do feel strongly about " Tack ". Not aimed at you, for mentioning the stuff, by the way! Just know all about it and Hate it!

Italy would produce such stuff, mate. Probably even for the sole purpose of catching rats (as indeed sugar manufacturers used to do in uk).

Good news is though that it was recently sussed out that those 'Rat Boards' are Illegal under Eire's trapping laws. Thus they suddenly vanished from the counter of my local creamery and Customs are now using a Very big stick on anyone found trying to import them!

As ye'd know; If a trap isn't legal here, ye not allowed to bring it into the country. So that's that filth out the door.
